DESCRIPTION:Plan a getaway retreat at the Himalayan Institute! \nReplenish\, nurture\, and recharge yourself. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of our 400-acre campus\, evening campfires\, hatha yoga\, opportunities for wellness treatments\, and nourishing vegetarian meals in the company of like-minded guests and residents. \nHelp with outdoor service projects including gardening\, trail management\, grounds keeping\, painting\, and pond restoration. \nParticipants may be asked to do the following depending on service assignment: \n\nLift and carry 20–60 lbs.\nFrequently bend\, kneel\, and reach\nStand for long periods of time\nClimb ladders\nServe in outdoor projects\nMust love being outside and serving in nature\n\nThe mission of the Himalayan Institute is to inspire and empower all those who wish to reach their full potential. It is a one-of-a-kind\, mission-driven organization that is supported by a community of residents as well as seekers who give the best of themselves while working toward a common goal. \nThis program runs Sunday through Thursday. Project times are Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. \nYou will be able to attend daily hatha yoga classes\, campfires\, and any programs available to the Himalayan Institute Residential Community. \nProgram cost: $200 (includes meals and a shared room with newly renovated\, private bathrooms down the hall). Pending availability you may request an upgraded room at an additional cost to you. \nIf you’re looking for another way to recharge\, consider joining our Volunteer Getaway Extended Stay\, a 4-night\, 5-day program designed to give you a refreshing retreat experience while contributing to light service projects in a supportive\, like-minded community. For those seeking a more immersive experience\, our longer-form SEVA Program offers a deeper dive into service\, paired with an educational component. This 2-week or 1-month program blends meaningful work with foundational teachings in meditation\, wellness\, hatha yoga\, and healthy living. Both programs provide a unique opportunity to serve\, learn\, and grow\, leaving many participants feeling renewed and inspired.
