Alignment is the first step in awakening the power of asana. It creates the foundation for activating and directing the body’s inherent vitality. With well-established alignment, we can practice activation by recruiting opposing forces and engaging bandhas (locks) to stabilize and intensify the pose, and then mobilize and redirect the life force within the form of the asana.
